The world's leading professional athletes and national teams are coming to Antalya with the project organized by the Cycling Tourism Association, which will contribute greatly to the promotion of Turkey in the world.

In his statement on the subject, Şamil Yaşacan, president of the Bicycle Tourism Association, said, “We are preparing to give life to our region with bicycle tourism, which is at the top of the world in terms of per capita expenditure in a period defined as the dead season in tourism. We are faced with a tourism area that will break the rules in our region, both with its long-term accommodation and the amount of foreign currency it leaves. We are working hard to develop cycling tourism, which has a volume of 52 billion euros annually in Europe alone, in our country. Various levels of our state, especially the President of the Turkish Cycling Federation, Mr. Emin Müftüoğlu, are working hard in this direction. As the Bicycle Tourism Association, we are preparing to organize the world's largest racing series, which will start in January. The races, which are published in the international racing calendar of the World Cycling Organization "UCI" and in which athletes from more than 46 countries will participate, are organized in a way that will exceed the expectations of the national teams and clubs in terms of Olympic and country points. "We hope that our country will attract the attention of cycling tourists around the world through these races and our tourism potential will receive the reward it deserves," he said.

The races, which are also supported by the Tourism Development Agency "TGA" affiliated with the Ministry of Tourism, contribute greatly to the promotion of historical areas such as Aspendos and Perge. The historical places where the starting and finishing points of the races and their names are given are introduced to the whole world by the UCI.

In addition, while the Ministry of Sports supports the races that have been held for 4 years and have become traditional in the world calendar, it also enables our country to recruit professional athletes in the field of cycling.

More than 3000 professional cycling athletes are expected to come to our country for the races to be held in 2024.
