Application to obtain a bicycle-friendly hotel certificate in Alanya

Introductory meeting held for bike friendly hotel

Sunpark Hotels, serving in Alanya, has applied to obtain the bicycle-friendly hotel certificate by completing all the criteria requested by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in order to develop sports tourism. At the introductory meeting held at the hotel after the application, the hotel officials explained that they made this application in order to develop sports tourism and increase the number of bicycle organizations in the district. Turkey Cycling National Team Manager Kairat Baigudinov, Alanya Youth and Sports District Manager Emre Kıldırgıcı, Sports Tourism Association (STB) President Recep Şamil Yaşacan, Sunpark Hotels General Coordinator Ekrem Curnal, Bicycle Tourism Association Board member Tolga Gündüz attended the introductory meeting.

Sports Tourism Association (STB) President Recep Şamil Yaşacan said, “There is such a customer base as gold tourism, which our state and our Ministry of Tourism call qualified tourists. Turkey has not met this tourist yet. With a turnover of 52 billion at the moment, such a group has not come to Turkey until now. Even if there is an incoming, we can think of it as 0.1 percent. But with the attack of our ministry, it is currently trying to create a value in our country by issuing a bicycle friendly hotel certificate. Speaking at the introductory meeting, District Youth and Sports Director Nazif Emre Kıldırgıcı stated that many of the important organizations for promotion are in Alanya, and said, "Our bicycle organizations are increasing day by day in Alanya. Ekrem Curnal, General Coordinator of the hotel, stated that they want to develop tourism in Alanya in the winter, and said, “We are here to inform the investment in Sunpark hotels, the bicycle-friendly hotel certificate prescribed by our Ministry. There is a 52 billion euro pie about bicycles in the world. We have completed the certification initiated by the ministry in order for our country to get a share of this cake. According to the news in Alanya, Turkey National Team trainer Kairat Baigudinov emphasized the importance of raising awareness of tourism and cycling and said: “Turkey has an important position in sea, sand and sun tourism. But it is very important to raise awareness of tourism with bicycles. There are very important opportunities in this sense in Turkey, especially in Alanya. We are very happy to camp here and we invite other friends from around the world. Investments in food, drink, air and bicycles are fine. Here, too, there is a nice atmosphere for cycling.
